This two-part module uses the Image Viewer Tool to investigate various properties of long, narrow filamentary structures in the Galactic center obtained in radio wavelengths with the Very Large Array radio telescope. Images of the filaments at two radio frequencies are compared with the Blender Tool to understand the underlying physics responsible for these unusual structures. The fist part is appropriate for an introductory class and the second part asks more sophisticated questions appropriate for an advanced class.
