These data used in the Trifid Module are from the HST observations, to which this education and public outreach project originated. The Trifid Jet has been observed at various times and moves by a measurable distance on the sky over the five years. The student compared the two images in order to determine the shift on the sky of the jet between the observations in 1997 and 2002.
